MQL Jubilee Buzzer Tournament

Merseyside success!!  Many congratulations to the team of (r to l) Madeline Evans, Alan Gibbs, Alan Thompson and Pat Gibson who won the second Jubilee MQL Buzzer Tournament held at the Bradbury Centre, Liverpool on Saturday 12 October.  They are pictured receiving their Trophy from MQL President Angela Houghton.  The Tournament, whose format is similar to TV's University Challenge, attracted 13 teams from all around the country, together with 7 local teams. After an intensive but enjoyable competition that involved over 80 matches, Ormskirk won a closely contested Final with the team representing Lancaster.  The Liverpool B team were the winners of the Plate Competition.  Congratulations too go to Jon Stitcher for coordinating the whole event and special mention should be made to the team of Question Persons and Scorers who between them officiated over about 1600 questions!  The winning teams nominated two local charities to whom cheques for £75 and £35 were donated.

Thanks to everyone who took part we hope to see you all again next year.
