Merseyside Quiz Leagues

The World's Largest Independent Quiz Leagues

These two competitions are for teams made up of players representing the Division or League in which they play.

President's Trophy

This is a competition between teams representing the top division in each of the 5 constituent Leagues.  It traditionally attracts some of the stronger players in the MQL and this is sometimes reflected in the standard of the questions!  However it leads to keenly contested and enjoyable matches.  2 matches are played on each of 5 Wednesday evenings from October to February hosted by each of the areas in turn.  Questions are set by the teams themselves.

The 2024-25 Competition is being played on line.

President's Shield

This is a competition between teams representing the remaining divisions in each of the 5 constituent Leagues.  It is a friendly and enjoyable competition that runs on 5 Wednesday evenings between October and March with each team plus the MQL taking turns to host.  2 matches are played on each occasion with questions set either by the teams or by MQL.  In 2024-25 5 teams are taking part with the matches played face to face.
