We anticipated providing some competitive quizzing for those teams who were not quite ready for a summer break and have been delighted with the uptake of 18 teams for this Season! After having first considered splitting teams into two divisions we have decided rather to go for a Swiss League system.
If you are not familiar with this the teams are drawn at random into the first week of matches. Thereafter fixtures are arranged between teams of similar ranking although teams will not play each other more than once. As the weeks progress the league takes shape and it means that teams play other teams of similar standard and (hopefully) there will be few imbalanced matches. Four points will be awarded for a win, two points for a draw and one point if you lose by a score of four or less.
We will continue to contact you by Thursday in the week preceding your match with details of the fixtures for the coming Monday.
The third season starts on Monday 24 May and will run through until Monday 26 July (no fixtures on 31 May). The start time has been brought forward to 8pm. If you are going to be delayed please let your opponents know. No match should start later than 8.30pm.
The fixtures can obviously only be announced week by week.
